Bikeplace MESH for 140 bikes

BIKEPLACE MESH AT BUSINESS GARDEN

The bicycle storage facilities for employees of Capgemini at Business Garden in Wrocław, commissioned in April 2018, are a result of collaboration between the whole team of Bike2Box with the investor, Vastint Poland. Once again, we were invited to work together within that building. This time it was about designing and creating two bike storage facilities for a French lessee.

You can see our previous implementations for Vastint Poland here.

  • one requirements consisted in locating the future bike storage facility in such a manner as to make the cyclist passage route interfere the least with the car traffic, in order to ensure safety of bike users
  • locating the parking facilities near elevator halls and exits in order to enable the employees to get to their offices quickly
  • locating the bike parking points at the level -1 of the underground parking lot, where supervision over access to equipment, roofing, and the option to store bikes in heated rooms are provided, in order to improve the comfort of users.

SOLUTIONS SUGGESTED

We created two parking zones with different surface areas, capable of holding up to 140 bikes. It was the first project where we applied the elements of “Bikeplace MESH” modular bike parking solution. We chose the optimal location for the bike storage facilities, providing the employees of Capgemini commuting by bike with the safest possible access route to the underground parking lot.

ZONE I

In the first zone, characterised by green colour set and the surface area of 36 m2, we applied two types of racks – BikeUp and Twist – which enabled maximum space savings and holding up to 38 bikes. The printed textile used to fence the bike storage facility has three different functions. First of all, it constitutes an element of the employer branding strategy. Secondly, it enables finding the parking facility quickly within the large underground parking lot. And finally, it conceals the bikes stored within it.

ZONE II

In the second zone, with dominating red and blue colours, we had a much larger surface area at our disposal – 90 m2. We managed to fit 102 bike parking points within it. In that zone we also employed two types of Bike2Box bike racks:

The printed textile fencing was applied there as well, making it easier for the company employees to locate the bike storage facility quickly.
